First as in Goods and Services above simply login and if you do not have a login click on the home page Place a Listing button top left and then click "New members click here to register"  Registration simply asks you to create a login id or "handle" - like carbuff as an example, then enter your email, City State and Zip Code for your convenience when searching with zip code radius.  Note that no uniquely identifiable information is ever requested.  Then continue to click on Place a Listing and select Automotive.  Important to note Market Value keys in on the Category and Subcategory and the Headline so select the category (Automobiles, SUVs, Trucks, etc.) and subcategory (manufacturer) of the listing you wish to place then enter a detailed descriptive headline, (2005 Ford Mustang 2 door coupe) then in addition for Automotive enter the exact year in the year field below the headline and listing description.  Then click the market value button to the left of you detailed listing headline.  The more detailed your description the more similar recent listings will be displayed on the major sites and the better idead you will ave of the current value of the item or service you are listing.  All listings must comply with the UZAP.com terms of use.

Q:  I have something of value that I want to swap for an item or service of equal value can I place a Barter Listing to trade or swap something?

A: Yes, after you log in you can simply click on the Barter Tab at the top of the page where you can search for Goods & Services Barter Listings (you will see Ad Type default to Barter on this page) or you can click on the Post a Barter listing link to place a barter.  Best to simply describe in detail what you have and what you want to Barter for.  On the post a trade page you may also enter a Minimum acceptable Trade Value to let other members know the value you expect to receive in the Barter transaction.

Q: What exactly is UZAP?

A: UZAP™ is the world’s most unique truly member-centric global online community for transacting trade in goods and services between both people and businesses. UZAP™ has been designed to be a totally member-centric Ask-Bid Community™-based web platform that allows members worldwide to trade goods and services within more than 45 main categories and over one-thousand subcategories for FREE!

Q: What is an “Ask-Bid-Deal Community?”

A: The UZAP™ Ask-Bid-Deal Community™ is one which allows users to set their own price (ask) and allows other users to make offers (bid). This makes UZAP™ unique to the world of existing online listings sites. People posting listings can see a wide array of offers and make decisions to accept the bid within their own time frame be it five seconds, five minutes or five days.   With UZAP  you get the deal you want!

Q: What do you mean, “UZAP.com lets YOU be in control?”

A: UZAP™ is member-centric because when members set the price they have complete control as to which offer they accept, when they decide to accept it and how they want to carry out their transaction.

Q: How long will my listing stay on?

A: 90 days. At 15 and 30 days from the initial date of your listing, we will send you a helpful email reminder alerting you to renew or cancel your listing. However, at any time, you may choose to renew, change or update your listing as many times as you want for up to 90 days without ever having to start from scratch.

Q: What if I sell an item and I don’t want my listing to show for that long?

A: After logging in, visit the “My UZAP” section and remove it at any time.

Q: What are the triangles and what do the colors mean?

A: The triangles are color-coded and represent the status of a listing. Green indicates a new or renewed listing; grey indicates a listing more than 15 days old; blue indicates a listing more than 30 days old; red appears at 90 days and indicates the listing is about to expire; and yellow indicates one or more active bid(s) has/have been placed on the listing. It is beneficial to log in and renew your listing every 15 days so it appears new as indicated with the green triangle unless you have bids pending, and then it will remain yellow.

Q: How do I change the color of a triangle?

A: After logging in, go to “My UZAP.” There you can select your listings and renew them to turn them green or delete them entirely.

Q: How do I manage all of my bids?

A: Log in and go to “My UZAP.” There you will see three choices to select from. Choose “Sold” to award the sale to a bidder. Once you click on this option no other bids will be accepted. Click on “Alternate” to select backup alternate(s). You may choose as many alternates as you like and the bidding will still be open to others. Or, choose “Declined” to decline the bid.

Q: I have a question about something I saw in a listing. How can I contact the person who posted it?

A: There are three different ways for you to communicate with others on UZAP™. First, you may email the person who posted the listing and be in direct contact. Click on “Send an email to the advertiser” at the bottom of the listing. Please note that the person receiving your email will be able to see your email address (see the “How safe is it for me to use UZAP section?” below). Secondly, you may prefer to communicate within the private messaging forum. As long as both you and your intended party asked to be placed on the forums list upon registering, you will each have access to it. The final option is to see if the listing party has a blog on UZAP™ Blog and then you may post a comment for him/her there.

Q: I have my own website that I want to direct people to after they view my listing. Can I do that?

A: Yes, simply post your URLs on the listing. There is no limit to the number of URLs you may post.

Q: I noticed that there is a link to UZAP™ Community Forums - am I allowed to promote myself and my business there too?

A:  Yes by all means - the UZAP Forums are broken into special interest boards based upon the UZAP major categories.  A great way to build a community of like minded people interested in buying, selling or bartering the goods or services you specialize in is with the UZAP Forums.   Our UZAP Forum engine features its own separate logins and you can post anything that you want that conforms to the UZAP terms of use.  Promote your business services, talk about new goods available in your shop, restoring a car, antique or home?  A great way to build interest is to create and link to a new forum topic from your listing and list back to your free UZAP listing in your forum topic.  By reporting on and informing people of your progress you will find that one of them might just become a new customer, supplier or bartering contact!  To top it off they can contact you safely with the UZAP Forums private messaging while protecting your privacy.

Q: I am a Scout leader and have a fundraising event coming up. How can I get the word out?

A: Go to the Home page and click on “Add a Local Event” above the community calendar and follow the simple instructions. If you want people to be able to contact you for more information, add it to the details section of the message.

Q: How do I place a bid?

A: After logging in, click on the particular listing you want to bid on. There is a button that states “Place a Bid.” Enter your bid amount and click on that button. You must upbid by at least $1.

Q: How will I know if I win a bid?

A: When the listing person awards the bid, the bidder will receive an email alert from UZAP. It will be sent to the email address the bidder registered with on UZAP. Within the email, the bidder will see his/her bidding price. Click on the link to the original listing. From there, the bidder selects “Send an email to the advertiser” and email him/her directly. Be sure to check your junk/spam/bulk folder periodically in the event messages get sent there. Remember to add emails from uzap.com to your safe list/address book in whatever email host service you use (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) to ensure future emails are delivered to your inbox. Also, do not report uzap.com emails as spam. See the end of the FAQ list, “How safe is it for me to use UZAP?” to learn how to safely communicate with others on the Internet.

Q: How do I know when I get a bid?

A: You have two options for bid notifications. In the “My UZAP” section, you can choose from real-time, hourly, daily, weekly or bi-weekly email notifications. Or, if you prefer, you may choose “none” and you will have access to your bid history when logging in to UZAP™ the next time you return.

Q: I saw a listing that I think my friend would like. How do I let my friend know about it?

A: At the bottom of each listing, there is section for you to email a friend. Just fill out your name and friend’s email address.

Q: What do I do if I see an offensive listing?

A: Go to the “Contact Us” tab. At the bottom of the page, click on “Report Abuse” and respond there. We will research your comments and act accordingly. We will make every effort to ensure UZAP™ users are free from harassment and distasteful listings. UZAP™ has a Zero Tolerance Policy for offenders; offenders will receive no notice and be banned from the site entirely.

Q: I represent a community or charity group and need a particular donation for my organization. How do I ask for it and how much will it cost?

A: Go to the Donate page and fill out the online form. UZAP.com never charges for charitable or community benefit listings.

Q: I am looking for a job. Can I put my profile in the career section?

A: Yes. Log in and go to “Post a Confidential Profile.”

Q: The company I work for has several job openings. Is this still a free service? How many job postings can I list?

A: Employers/recruiters may post unlimited job announcements for free.

Q: How can I advertise on UZAP?

A: There are two ways to advertise; advertise through UZAP directly or through an outside source. To find out how to advertise through UZAP directly, contact us at the sales department.  To find out how to advertise through an outside source, click here.

Q: I saw a listing that did not have any ads. How do I do that?

A. When you initially place a listing, you will be prompted to either post a Free Sponsored Listing or a No Banner Ads Listing at a nominal price. Choose the No Banner Ads Listing to take you to the "Promote Yourself" page for detailed information.

Q: Someone told me I can blog here but I don’t have my own blog. Can I do that?

A: Yes. We offer a free service for you to set up and maintain your own blog. Blogs are oftentimes similar to online diaries but can also contain tips, ideas and suggestions for areas that you are a subject matter expert in. This is a valuable feature because you don’t have to host it yourself and it is yet another way you can promote your business/goods/services for free.

Q: How safe is it for me to use UZAP?

A: If you take the necessary precautions for online dealings with any website involving transactions, UZAP is perfectly safe because we never store, share or sell any personal information. In fact, social responsibility, member privacy and safety are key factors in the success of UZAP.com. Below is a list of suggestions to help keep you safe when transacting online.

1.       When registering a user name, make it generic and never use your real name.

2.       Likewise, if you send an email to a person with a listing, he/she can see your email address, so make sure your email address is also generic and does not contain your first and last names.

3.       Never post any personally identifiable information within your listing. This includes your full name, phone number and/or street address.

4.       When meeting up with the other party to complete the transaction, make sure to use the buddy system, meet in a public place, notify a friend of your whereabouts and take your cell phone.

5.       Never provide your social security number and make sure you use a third party, trusted source for payment.

6.       When buying anything on the internet always insist upon original receipts, warranties and maintenance records.
